Ohio is the leader in flight with its aviation heritage, aerospace industry and active aviation community. NAHA strives to support that reputation with two main programs:
Leader in Flight license plates. Ohioans can show their pride and support aviation heritage by purchasing Leader in Flight specialty license plates, adorned with images of two history-making airplanes: the Wright Flyer, an Ohio invention, and the space shuttle, built with the help of Ohio aerospace technology. Aviation scholarship. NAHA sponsors a scholarship program for young people in the Heritage Area that will provide $1,500 worth of flying lessons towards earning a Private Pilot or Light Sport Pilot’s Certificate. That’s enough for the average person to learn to fly solo! Learn more.
