DAYTON, Ohio—The U.S. Navy has declared June 13-19 Navy Week in Dayton and will boost its presence at the June 18-19 Vectren Dayton Air Show Presented by Kroger, show officials announced Thursday, March 10.

Navy Week—Dayton will coincide with the weekend air show on June 18-19 at Dayton International Airport. The service will focus a variety of events, equipment and personnel on the city for a week-long series of engagements with the public, community leaders and organizations, show officials said.

Show officials previously announced the U.S. Navy Blue Angels jet team as its headline act. They have also added the U.S. Navy Leap Frogs, a precision parachuting team made up of active-duty special forces personnel. The Navy Band Northeast Rhode Island Sound will perform each day of the show before and after feature flying.

“The addition of the Leap Frogs, Navy Band Northeast and Navy Week are more examples of the incredible show” planned for this year, said Michael Emoff, chairman of the United States Air and Trade Show (USATS) board of trustees.

Show officials previously announced an Air Force F-22 Raptor demonstration; “Tora! Tora! Tora!” a civilian re-enactment of the Dec. 7, 1941 attack on U.S. forces at Pearl Harbor, and a general increase in military aircraft over recent years.

The air show will follow the June 8 opening of the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force’s fourth building, so visitors from outside the Dayton region will be able to include both attractions in a weekend trip.

Air show tickets are now on sale at the show’s website, For the first time this year, customers will have print-at-home or print-to-mobile options available for website purchases.

Beginning May 9, customers can purchase general admission tickets with a $3.00 discount children and adults at more than 100 Kroger stores in the Dayton-Cincinnati region. Kroger discount tickets are good for either Saturday or Sunday admission.

USATS and the National museum are partners of the National Aviation Heritage Alliance.
