Freedom’s Call to light up skies Friday

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE—Freedom’s Call Tattoo will be back in a big way not seen since budget cuts slashed spending on the yearly celebration two years ago, organizers say.

Aircraft fly-overs, including four F-15 Eagle fighter jets, country music performers and fireworks will light up the skies Friday over the grounds of the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force.

“It’s a little bit more robust than it has been in past years,” said Col. John M. Devillier, installation commander at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. “… Really, what it does is it celebrates the rich aviation heritage that Dayton has.”
