The National Aviation Heritage Area will announce the winner of its first Mitchell Cary-Don Gum Memorial Aviation Scholarship on Monday, Dec. 17, immediately after the First Flight Anniversary wreath-laying ceremony at the Wright Brothers Memorial on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The scholarship provides $1,500 toward a light sport or private pilot’s certificate.

WHAT: Presentation of the first Mitchell Cary-Don Gum Memorial Aviation Scholarship

WHEN: Approximately 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2012

WHERE: Huffman Prairie Flying Field Interpretive Center theater, Wright Brothers Memorial

DIRECTIONS: The interpretive center is located at the Wright Brothers Memorial off Kauffman Avenue. From Ohio 444, go south on Kauffman and turn right onto Memorial Road. From Colonel Glenn Highway, go north on National Road, turn left onto Kauffman and left onto Memorial Road.
