Media Advisory: NAHA to present Cary-Gum Memorial Aviation Scholarship

On Tuesday, Feb. 14, the National Aviation Heritage Alliance will present its fifth annual Mitch Cary-Don Gum Memorial Aviation Scholarship, which provides $1,500 worth of flying lessons towards a private pilot’s or light sport pilot’s certificate. NAHA created the scholarship to honor the lives of Mitch Cary and Don Gum, two local pilots and aviation heritage volunteers who lost their lives in 2011.

WHAT: Scholarship presentation

WHERE: Huffman Prairie Flying Field Interpretive Center, 2380 Memorial Road, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH 45433

WHEN: Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017. Media should arrive by 2:45 p.m. for setup. The presentation will begin promptly at 3 p.m. and end by 3:15 p.m. Interview opportunities will follow.

NOTE: Following the presentation, the NAHA Board of Trustees will hold its regular business meeting, which is closed to the public.
