More than 18,000 people took advantage of sunny weather Sept. 27-28 to attend the World War I Dawn Patrol Rendezvous at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, according to a museum announcement.

The biennial event, which this year commemorated the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War, featured full-scale and 7/8-scale aircraft, radio-controlled model aircraft, re-enactors, antique automobiles, educational activities and food trucks. The next Dawn Patrol Rendezvous is scheduled for September 2016. Use these links to find a video and more photos of the rendezvous and more information about the museum’s World War I resources.
