The free, family-friendly, annual event known as Runway Fest returns to Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport on Friday, Aug. 7.
Live music, aircraft static displays, airplane rides, a hot-air balloon launch, clowns, inflatables and food vendors are on tap for Dayton’s general aviation airport at 11160 Springboro Pike, south of Dayton at the Austin Interchange. The one-of-a-kind Wright B Flyer, a lookalike of the Wright brothers’ first factory-built airplane that’s based on the airport, also will be on display.
The event is scheduled from 6 to 10 p.m. A fireworks show is scheduled for 9:30 p.m.
The 2014 Runway Fest drew more than 7,000 people in 2014, according Dayton aviation officials.
The event prohibits smoking, alcohol, glass containers, animals, outside food and drink and coolers. Visit Dayton’s aviation website for more information.
