Stanley Mohler, M.D., an aviation medical examiner, former director of the Federal Aviation Administration’s Civil Aeromedical Institute (CAMI) and former director of Wright State University’s aerospace medicine residency program, died Monday, Sept. 15 in Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, PA.Well known in the local aviation community, Dr. Mohler was also an airplane pilot with Airline Transport and Instructor ratings, member of the medical advisory panels of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), member of NASA’s Aerospace Medicine Advisory Committee, President and Fellow of the Aerospace Medical Association (ASMA), member, and Secretary-Treasurer of the American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM) and author of numerous publications and books including Wiley Post, His Winnie Mae, and the World’s First Pressure Suit.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Kepple-Graft Funeral Home in Greensburg. Services will follow at 11 a.m.
