Tom Hanks is coming to Dayton next spring — and he may be bringing some of his production team with him as he prepares for a new HBO miniseries about the Wright Brothers.
Hanks is working with Wright State University to plan a two-day trip to Gem City next spring, possibly in April, but an exact date for the visit has not been confirmed yet, officials tell me. The trip is an opportunity for the actor to meet with the school as well as learn more of Dayton’s history. …
One day he will meet with Wright State students and see the school’s campus. The capital campaign is intended to fund scholarships, facilities construction and other initiatives for the university.
The second day, Hanks will take a tour of a number of historic sites related to the Wright Brothers, including the Wright Company factory site, Huffman Prairie, and Hawthorn Hill, the family’s historic home in Oakwood.
