Wright “B” Flyer Inc. has received another major gift to fund a new flying lookalike of the Wright brothers’ first production airplane.

This summer, an engineer and amateur aircraft builder with a passion for aviation history donated $50,000 to launch the project to design and build a successor to the organization’s airplane, which has been flying since 1982. Last month, he doubled his donation to $100,000 and pledged to match up to $50,000 from other donors.

Wright “B” Flyer is an all-volunteer 501 (c) 3 nonprofit. It’s seeking financial donations or donations of parts, materials, tools or professional services. Read Wright “B” Flyer’s news release for more information about the project.
